Mirror Mazes Worldwide

"There are lots of people who design mazes...but there's one man who's considered the Michael Jordan of maze design, a British fellow named Adrian Fisher. Today, if you travel to places as far away as South Korea, Argentina and Australia, you will find Fisher mazes."

Washington Post, (USA) 6 March 2001.

North America

Palace of Sweets Mirror Maze - North AmericaNorth America is the keynote export market for Adrian Fisher Design. Adrian Fisher has created mazes of all kinds throughout America for over a quarter of a century.

In recent years, our Mirror Mazes have been setting the standard by which all other Mirror Mazes are compared.

Notable examples include Noah's Ark Mirror Maze, Wisconsin Dells where visitors find themselves on the main livestock deck of Noah's gigantic Ark which seems to extend forever in all directions. Finally, as the waters recede, Noah's Ark comes to rest on Mount Ararat and visitors dash two by two to descend the drawbridge ramp into the watery landscape outside, complete with a rainbow.

Other examples include Amazing Chicago where visitors encounter Chicago's obsession with skyscrapers, including a less than successful ascent by elevator that brings them out in the dank tunnels below the city streets! As the adventure unfolds, visitors come across various skyscrapers until they reach the viewing deck and look down on the twinkling lights of the city laid out beneath them.

Monterey Mirror Maze is another great example and has an excellent web site.

Europe & The British Isles

The Holy Grail from King Arthur's Mirror Maze (United Kingdom)Britain is Adrian's home market - not only because his company is based in Dorset on the South Coast but also because his first Mirror Mazes were created in Britain.

As a result, today Britain has the world's highest density of Mirror Mazes.

Some highlights of Adrian Fisher's portfolio in the UK include the Mirror Maze at Wookey Hole (Somerset), The Mirror Maze at London Dungeon and King Arthur's Mirror Maze at Longleat in Wiltshire.

Dungeons are a common theme for Mirror Mazes and Adrian Fisher designs can be found in Hamburg (Germany) - taking its inspiration from the notorious "House of Corrections" in the ancient city of Hamburg - few souls that entered ever left its walls alive. This Maze features a courtyard where prisoners are incarcerated in chambers below the cobbled courtyard and rattle their grilles in vain attempts to secure their freedom.

Peaugres Safari park in France is another stunning example featuring close encounters with crocodiles, scorpions and bats and a Mirror Maze in the style of an Egyptian temple.

 Asia

Mirror Maze in JapanThe space adventure at the iMax Theatre in Hydrabad, India takes visitors from a space station through an airlock for a space walk among the stars and planets through an infinity chamber before plunging into a black hole, from which - traditionally - there is no escape!

Adrian Fisher has created five Mirror Mazes in Japan at Seibu Park in Japan, Huis Tenbosch Park, Tobu Zoo, Spanish Village at the Tokyo Dome.

In the Tokyo dome, visitors re-enact the adventures of Lupin III - one of Japan's most popular detectives of the silver screen.
