The Project
The London Dungeon was the second mirror maze that Adrian Fisher created for Merlin Entertainments following the extraordinary success of the Hamburg Dungeon Mirror Maze.
The brief was made even more challenging by the fact that the attraction had to be built under and between the arches of a railway bridge!
Designing a vistor attraction robust enough to cope with the very high number of visitors to the London Dungeon - all of whom go through the mirror maze as part of the experience - was another critical part of the brief.
4 Million Visitors And Still Going Strong
By 2010, well over four million visitors have enjoyed the experience of the mirror maze - an in series attraction - where visitors spend several minutes before moving to the next episode of the Dungeon visit.
Designing attractions that will stand the test of time is a central part of the Adrian Fisher brand.

The Story
An old woman of Spitalfields was buried alive and clawed her way out of her coffin with her bare fingers.
She scratched the word"Nowone" on the wall of the crypt. Nobody knows why or what it means...
Her remains were found many years later, but her ghost remains.
The Client Said...
We commissioned the first maze for our newest Dungeon in the famous Speicherstadt, in Hamburg, Germany, in December 2003.
With this success behind us, it was not a difficult decision to commission two more mazes for the Edinburgh Dungeon and the world-famous London Dungeon.
Both were successfully installed for
Easter 2005 and have shared the success of Hamburg.
In London visitors are sent into 'The Labyrinth of the Lost' where we quite literally scare the pants off them with a combination of live acting, mechanical scares and the amazing effect of a room that seems to go to infinity.
Typical visitor quotes included:
- "The maze is incredible, really dark and ghostly."
- "I lost my brother - it was great!"
- "The labyrinth scared me stiff; you didn't know which way to turn."
